Job Opportunities

Bay Language Academy (based in the East Bay) is seeking instructors for teaching students 3 to 18 years old as well as adults. We are currently hiring motivated instructors who are comfortable working in a diverse environment on a flexible schedule, for the following foreign languages: Spanish, English, Japanese, Arabic, Cantonese and Mandarin.

-       Must be available some weekdays morning, afternoon (between 1:15pm to 6:15pm or 3:30 and 6:30 pm) and potentially week ends;

-    Part-time positions;

-    Ability to apply progressive educational theory and practices;

-       Ability to work effectively with diverse students, parents and community members;

-       Excellent written and verbal communication skills;

-     Must have a working understanding of developmental and constructivist teaching practices;

-       Ability and desire to be a positive role model by exhibiting and supporting good study skills and high academic goal setting;

-     Ability to successfully instruct and differentiate for students at different ability levels;

-    Integrating learning technology into teaching programs;    

-       Review students' progress and discuss results with parents and participate in performance evaluation plan;

-    Must have a nurturing and supportive tone with students; 

-       Adhere to all expectations and maintain professional conduct at all times;

-    Must have experience with collaborative teaching;

-       Continuous communication with Site Coordinator and/or Director in person, via email, phone, and meetings;

-     Must be eligible to work in the U.S;

-       Meets all state required conditions of employment including Live-scan and TB clearance.
