Bay Language Academy is expanding its after school program and looking for aspiring instructors and assistants instructors.
individuals who love working with children and teens.
Part time positions available for a dynamic :
(1) Lead Spanish Teacher who is experienced at planning and implementing our curricula, who is committed to academic excellence and culturally responsive teaching, and who understands child growth and development;
(2)  Spanish after school assistant;
(3)  Art instructor.

· Manage small group of students;
· Teach formally in a classroom setting following an existing curriculum and/or informally;
· Assess students and monitor their progress;
· Interact with parents, teachers, and Academy staff.

· Classes are held mainly at Bay Language Academy;
· Classes typically start between 1:15 PM and 6:15 PM, depending on days and languages;
· Flexible schedule;
· Periodic training and staff meetings with the Director.

· Be Punctual. It is imperative to be on time because of class timings and structure.
· Demonstrate leadership/teaching experience;
· Excellent communication skills, and a positive and energetic attitude;
· Have prior experience working with children, teens and/or adults;
· Be authorized to work in the US as there is no possibility to "sponsor" candidates wishing to obtain a work visa for the US;
· Possess the ability to work independently and creatively, and yet follow our established guidelines and standards;
· Maintain a physical environment (indoors and outdoors) which is safe, healthy, neat, attractive, clean, appropriate for students and conducive to learn;
· Be organized, detail-oriented, energetic and flexible;
· Be able to communicate, multi-task and resolve issues and challenges creatively.


· Background in education and prior experience teaching is necessary;
· BA/BS minimum required;
· Be fingerprinted and cleared through a Live Scan background check;
· Receive a negative TB-Test result
· Readiness and willingness to learn;
· Commitment to this type of a career as the goal is to hire people who are not simply looking for a temporary job.
· Customization to the specific needs of the small group of students being taught is required.
· Lead organized project based learning activities for students to develop and strengthen their academic and social skills
· Professionalism, flexibility and a good attitude;
· Native or like-native fluency in Spanish, thorough knowledge of grammar, ability to teach reading and writing as well as oral skills, familiarity with literature and printed materials in Spanish, and willingness to grow professionally
· A practical working knowledge of spoken English is also required;
· Time Management Skills is essential.
